IN OUR VIEW/Cookie Catastrophe?New Girl Scout treat in short supply for now

Say it isn't so!

This is the time of year when Girl Scout cookies are savored by one and all. And this year a new variety -- a caramel cream and sea salt creation called the Adventurful -- made its debut.

The cookie has been well received. But apparently not everyone is going to be able to enjoy them.

According to the Girl Scouts USA, labor shortages at one of the principal suppliers of the cookies means Adventurefuls are in short supply in about 70% of markets.

Sad news for all those who have been waiting to try the new treat since GSUSA first announced it in the fall.

Just be patient. No doubt supply of Adventurfuls will eventually catch up with the demand.

And in a bit of good news, you can be sure there are more than enough longtime favorites like Thin Mints and Somoas to keep you happy while you wait.
