Shout Out | Abbott touts Texas economy from Davos forum

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is proud of the

economic climate in his home state.

And he's telling the world.

Abbott is attending the famed World Economic Forum, held annually in Davos, Switzerland. He's in good company.

President Donald Trump took the stage there Tuesday, touting his new trade agreements
with Canada and Mexico as well as China to
an audience of global political and business
leaders.

Abbott noted the same day via satellite on
"Fox and Friends" that Texas shares many of
the president's economic ideals. He did a bit of Lone Star State bragging as well, pointing out that that Texas has the highest gross domestic product and the fastest-growing economy in
the U.S.

Businesses and individuals have taken notice and that's why they're hanging out the old "Gone to Texas" sign. Abbott says there is plenty of room for those on the fence.

"We want businesses to come into the state
of Texas. We want fewer regulations; lower taxes, we want to make it easy for businesses to be able to succeed because we understand something in Texas that it seems like some other states do not, and that it is when your business succeeds in Texas, we as a state succeed," the governor said.

Who knows? Before too long it might not be just California, New York and other U.S. states giving up their best and brightest to Texas. It's
a big world out there.
