SITE, TIME: Lobo Coliseum, Longview, 6 p.m.

AT STAKE: Class 3A area championship.

LAST ROUND: The Mustangs beat Prairiland, 54-42, and the Tigers topped Elysian Fields, 52-38.

LINEUP: Brennan Dowell, Markees Kemp, Ja'Kobie Craver, Tradarian Craver, Chandler King.

COACH'S COMMENTS: Hughes Springs' Jeremy Griffin-"Troup is big, pretty athletic, fairly balanced on offense and play hard on defense. They stay in a 1-3-1 (zone) and sometimes a 2-3 but can switch to man-to-man as well. They've got a 6-5 kid who protects the middle and really gets after the boards; they're pretty big across the board.

"We need to rebound well. If we keep them off the offensive rebounds, we have a good shot; we match up with them pretty well because of our athleticisim. If we rebound well on the defensive side, we'll give ourselves a good chance of pulling it out. Of course, we need to shoot well."

NEXT ROUND: The winner advances to the regional quarterfinals against either Jefferson or Chapel Hill.

SITE, TIME: Bill Waters Gymnasium, Gladewater, 7:30 p.m.

AT STAKE: Class 3A area title.

LAST ROUND: Daingerfield eliminated Winnsboro, 58-42, and Sabine defeated Beckville, 81-62.

LINEUP: Reggie Jeter, Timmyon Broner, Mikal Reeves, Trevanta Royal, Ladaniel Dancer, Chris Black.

COACH'S COMMENTS: Daingerfield's Curtis Lewis-"Sabine has good size and has good shooters. What they like to do is spread you out, make you come out to defend them and dribble-penetrate. If you close the lane, they'll kick it out to a shooter. They're a well-coached team.

"We need to guard them, hit the boards and play well on the offensive side. We're not a great shooting team, but we can shoot it. We need to make them play on the defensive end. Instead of coming down and jacking up a shot, make them play on defense. The teams that have beat them have made them play defense."

NEXT ROUND: The winner plays either Mount Vernon or White Oak in the regional quarterfinals.

CLARKSVILLE (22-6) VS. NORTH HOPKINS (20-12)
