Arkansas-side city manager earns credential

Texarkana, Ark., City Manager Kenny Haskin recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association.

"This is without a doubt the high point in my career from a development standpoint. I'm truly honored to be part of such an elite group of managers across the country. I'm still a work in progress, but achieving this milestone is uplifting and certainly encouraging, to say the least.

"I am truly blessed and continue to be grateful to Mayor Bell, the Board of Directors and citizens of Texarkana, Ark., for allowing me to serve," Haskin said.

To receive the credential, an ICMA member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development, according to a news release.

Haskin is one of about 1,400 professionals credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
