The fourth annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K and walk starts at 8 a.m. Thursday at Spring Lake Park.
Registration is at 7 a.m.
The event is organized by Community Healthcore, a nonprofit agency that provides mental health services to children and adults in nine counties, including Bowie, Cass and Red River.
This year includes a 5K and a one-mile walk. Strollers and pet entries are encouraged. There will be a costume contest, turkey call contest and kids sprints and bounce play areas. Besides local entries, there have been entries from numerous states. Entry fee is $25.00 for 5K or 1 mile, $10.00 for strollers and/or pets. All other events are free.
