The featured guest is Arkansas native Patricia Haley-Glass, an award-winning Christian fiction author and corporate engineer who received two bachelor's degrees from Stanford University and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago. As a senior project manager, she's supported operations all over the world.

In addition to Haley-Glass, the celebration of Angelou's life includes music, Maya Angelou poetry readings and the announcement of the 2018 Lafayette County High School Maya Angelou Academic Scholar.

The public is invited to attend.

"It is important that we celebrate Maya's 90th birthday in Stamps, and we are so grateful to Mayor (Brenda) Davis and the city of Stamps for playing such a vital role in our efforts to keep Maya's life and legacy alive. Maya left us four years ago, and the Celebrate! Maya Project began our efforts shortly after her death in the city of Stamps to ensure her memory lives on for our children and our communities," said Janis F. Kearney, the project's founder and president.
