Texarkana, Texas, Police Department has identified human remains found in a tree Friday morning as a 32-year-old homeless man from Dierks, Ark.

TTPD believes the man's cause of death to be suicide and so have not released his name, Public Information Officer Shawn Vaughn said. The man's family has been notified and told investigators that they have not heard from him since late last year.

At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, railroad workers saw what they first thought was a Halloween decoration hanging in a tree south of where the train tracks pass over College Drive.

A closer look revealed that what they saw was a body, and they contacted police. Officers used an ATV to reach the body's location.

The body was so decomposed that no identifying characteristics, including sex, race or age, were obvious, Vaughn said. It will be sent to the Dallas medical examiner for autopsy.
