Former president will speak at Hope meeting

President Bill Clinton will return to a place called Hope on April 6 as the keynote speaker for the the Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and banquet, an official said.

Also accompanying Clinton and returning to their roots on that day will be Mack McLarty and Joe Purvis, former Hope residents, said Beckie Moore, Chamber director.

The event will be held at Hempstead Hall.

Tickets will range from $30 each to $240 for a table of eight.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. with a silent auction.
