Police bag suspect in cul-de-sac after lengthy chase across state line

TEXARKANA - A pursuit that began in Bowie County Tuesday morning ended on a lawn in Texarkana, Arkansas.

The chase started about 9 a.m. when deputies noticed a pickup truck with a possible illegal license plate. The truck fled when deputies tried to stop it, according to a news release from Bowie County Sheriff's Office.

No one was injured.

Bryan Russell Yeager, 37, was arrested on charges of felony fleeing and two outstanding felonies.

The pursuit began when Lt. Rob Hadaway attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 4000 block of South Lake Drive. The driver of the vehicle fled from law enforcement instead. A lengthy pursuit ensued into rural south Texarkana, Texas and Arkansas; Genoa, Arkansas; and back into Texarkana before the driver turned down a cul-de-sac in the 3000 block of Locust Street.

The driver then backed his vehicle into a Bowie County Sheriff's Office patrol unit causing minor damage.

The driver, identified as Yeager, was arrested by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department for two outstanding felony warrants and felony fleeing.

The vehicle Yeager was driving was also found to be stolen out of Texarkana, Arkansas.

The Miller County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas State Police and Texarkana Arkansas and Texarkana Texas Police were involved in the chase.
