MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Alwin Wright, 72, of Mount Pleasant died Monday, March 27, 2017, in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Wright was born July 3, 1944, in Cason, Texas. He was formerly employed with Day and Zimmerman, Golden Feast and T&N and a member of Shady Grove Christian Church, Cason. He was preceded in death by one son, Alvin Ray Wright; and one daughter, Melinda Wright. Survivors include three sons, Elvis Hurndon of Dallas and Elwin Smith and Alwin Smith of Pittsburg, Texas; one aunt, Marsha Nell Smith of Pittsburg; two special cousins, Martha Bryson of Mount Pleasant and Michael Bryson of Longview, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Tumey Mortuary with Kenneth Fredrick officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
