GLORIA MATTHEWS

Gloria Marie Matthews, 87, formerly of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, in a Round Rock, Texas, nursing home. Mrs. Matthews was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Texarkana. She was a piano teacher and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Ray Matthews. Survivors include four children, Pamela Sue Litvay, Polly Ann Tanner, William R. Buse and Priscilla Marie Swartz; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. Visitation will be 4 p.m to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Online registration is at texarkanafuneralhome.com.
