ATLANTA, Texas—Vera Fike, 82, of Atlanta died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Fike was born May 7, 1935, in Queen City, Texas. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. E. Fike; one son, Robert Fike; and two daughters, Martha Nottingham and Lillie Fike. Survivors include three daughters, Dian Fike of Atlanta, Fay Jones of Fouke, Ark., and Bonnie Latham of Leary, Texas; three brothers, Robert Powell of Atlanta, Jamie Powell of Queen City and Carl Powell of Daingerfield, Texas; three sisters, Decie Jackson of Queen City, Ella Alexander of Naples, Texas, and Kathryn Garrett of Hallsville, Texas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hanner Funeral Chapel with Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery. The body may be viewed 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
