CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Versell Porterfield, 87, of Paris, Texas, died Friday, March 16, 2018, in a Paris nursing home. Mrs. Porterfield was born, Oct. 3, 1930, in Clarksville. She was a member of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Porterfield; one daughter, Penny Connell; and one son, Michael Porterfield. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Patty and John Winder of McCall, Idaho, and Robbyn Porterfield of Clarksville; one sister, Hazel Hestand of Plainview, Texas; and one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lottie Holloway of Leesburg, Ga. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Cremation will follow services.
