NAPLES, Texas—Billy Ray Rosewell Sr., 85, of Cookville, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at his home. Mr. Rosewell was born Nov. 25, 1933, in Cookville. He was a cowboy, a cutting horse trainer, a member of American Quarter Horse Association and NCHA Hall of Fame and an Army veteran. Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, Billy Rosewell Jr. of Cookville, David and Maria Rosewell of Kilgore, Texas, and Tommy Joe Rosewell of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Tammy Rosewell of Reno, Nev.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Katy Rosewell of Cookville; one sister, Betty Ann Phillips of Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Harrison Funeral Home. Burial will be in Omaha Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
