NICHOLE KEENER

Nichole Payton Keener, 43, of Fresno, Calif., died Friday, March 1, 2019, in Fresno. Mrs. Keener was born May 3, 1975, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a teacher with Fresno Unified School District and a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and First Union Baptist Church, Fresno. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. David J. Keener of Fresno; one daughter, Payton Alexandria Keener of Fresno; her parents, Joe and Elnora Payton of Texarkana; two brothers, Gerald Payton of Long Beach, Calif., and Christopher Byrd of Dallas; four sisters, Sheronda Payton, Lakesha Taylor and Kristen Payton of Texarkana and Natalie Payton of Texarkana; her grandparents, Ruth Smith of Little Rock and Canary Bursey of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lonoke Baptist Church with the Revs. T.J. Roberson and David J. Keener officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church.
