TEXARKANA -- Local United Ag & Turf John Deere dealership is building a new facility on the west side of town

It's going to be big.

The current facility, located at 4015 E. 9th St., has been around since the '70s as a John Deere dealership known as Green Line Equipment. It is now owned by United Ag & Turf, a John Deer dealer active in central Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

But they are changing locations and have their new site under construction.

"Our current facility is about nine acres," said Mike Mahan, general manager. "The new one will be much larger, about 22 acres."

Mahan describes the new facility as not only being able to accommodate a much larger range of equipment, but to have larger individual units.

"It is going to be state of the art," Mahan said.

According to United Ag & Turf's website, they have been in the John Deere dealership business for more than 40 years, operating out of 28 different locations. They act as an equipment supplier for a large range of outfits, including hay and cattle producers, rural property owners, large row crop and precision farming agriculture, construction and commercial landscaping.

In addition to their dealing in John Deere equipment, they are active in supporting local organizations, such as 4-H and Future Farmers of America, county fairs and the like.

(The new facility is under construction at 808 E. Loop Drive, Texarkana, Texas.)
