TEXARKANA, Texas -- A book signing with author Robert M. Couch will be Monday at the Museum of Regional History.

The Texarkana Museums System and the NAACP Greater Texarkana Chapter No. 6231 are holding the event with Couch who is the author of "Uncle Brice: A Killing, a Trial, a True Story."

The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Museum of Regional History, 219 N. State Line Ave. Tickets are free, pre-registration is suggested. Guests can sign up at TexarkanaMuseums.org/events or call TMS at 903-793-4831 for more details.

The book details the twists and turns of a Texarkana murder trial which occurred over 80 years ago.

"Mr. Couch was able to conduct some of his research using the TMS Archives," said TMS Curator Jamie Simmons. "It's exciting to read about what he uncovered as he pursued this story."

Couch is a Texarkana native who stumbled upon the incident while conducting genealogical research. This historical account combines family history with a true-crime legal drama that should keep the reader guessing as to the outcome.

There will be a limited number of copies of Couch's book available for purchase at the event or guests can buy a copy online at tinyurl.com/RobCouchBook.
