TEXARKANA, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas Hope Texarkana will break ground on a new $3.85 million building at the Texarkana campus today at 3:30 p.m. It will house a welding program, the Secondary Career and Technical Education Center, and the Arkansas High Collegiate Academy.

A significant portion of the new facility will be dedicated to career and technical programs, including the UAHT Secondary Career and Technical Education Center.

UAHT is inviting the public to attend the ceremony on at 3:30 p.m. at 3501 U of A Way, Texarkana, Arkansas. Additional parking will be available at Four States Fairgrounds, with shuttle services provided.

"There's untapped potential here in Texarkana," Chancellor Dr. Christine Holt said. "I think we are in a wonderful place in time to really be able to move forward and become a paragon of excellence -- not just here in the state, but nationally -- and particularly for other rural community colleges."
