Bowie County Elections Information

BOWIE COUNTY, Texas -- This year's general election will decide who will be Texarkana's mayor; who will serve in Place 6 on the Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Directors; and whether Hooks ISD will issue bonds worth $11.2 million.

All Texans can also vote whether to approve eight proposed amendments to the state Constitution.

Early, Election Day and absentee voting information follows.

EARLY VOTING

In-person early voting will be available Monday through Friday from Oct. 18 to Oct. 29. No early voting will be available on weekends.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 28, early voting hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Hours all other days will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

ELECTION DAY VOTING

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 2.

ABSENTEE VOTING BY MAIL

To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must: be 65 years or older; be sick or disabled; be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

Applications for absentee mail ballots must be received by the county early voting clerk by Oct. 22.
