by Judy Morgan | January 11, 2022 at 10:00 p.m.
Floyzell Stevenson explains a display of quilts which tell a story of directing escaping slaves to freedom and safely during the Civil War. The quilters of Pleasant Hill in Linden have made a popular musical and poetic presentation of this quilting story.

The life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday in the courtroom of the Cass County Courthouse.

The event is being sponsored by the Linden Heritage Foundation and the Linden Martin Luther King Jr. Club, according to Joe Lovelace, Malthus Northcutt and Floyzell Stevenson, members of these organizations.

The public is invited to a program which will include a presentation by the Pleasant Hill Quilters of Linden.
