TEXARKANA -- Four more area school districts have closed campuses through Monday in response to rising COVID-19 cases.
The De Queen School District and Hooks, Atlanta and New Boston independent school districts have decided to close campuses beginning today through Monday, with students scheduled to return on Tuesday.
De Queen announced all students will use Alternative Method of Instruction days, which may include instructional paper packets or digital learning, during the time campuses are closed.
Atlanta, Hooks and New Boston are closing all district functions during this time.
Hope Public Schools announced it will extend the virtual learning period through Monday for two of its campuses.
"Because of rising positive numbers with staff, Clinton Primary and Hope Academy of Public Service will return to face-to-face instruction on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022," Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley said.
These districts join the following list of schools that have closed campuses and/or shifted to virtual learning until next week:
n Texarkana Arkansas School District has shifted to virtual learning until Tuesday
n Texarkana ISD closed all district functions until Tuesday
n Pewitt Consolidated ISD closed all district functions until Tuesday
n Genoa Central School District shifted to virtual learning until Tuesday.
