Texarkana school Trustees today consider sick leave for COVID, appoint school marshal

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Texarkana Independent School District Board of Trustees will consider a resolution regarding payments for employees in a regular meeting this morning.

The payments would be related to nonexempt employees during closures resulting from COVID absences and staffing shortages.

The board will also consider an item that would involve extending sick leave for the COVID pandemic.

Other items that will be reviewed/considered include appointing a school marshal, calling for a trustee election and adopting an annual tuition rate for ineligible students.

The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday with a closed session, before an open forum and regular business items.
