Barbara Jean (Goodwin) Poole passed from this life into the next on Monday, April 9 after an accident at work. She was born to Virgie Mills and Ray Goodwin on August 6, 1951, the second of four daughters. She is survived by her husband Ken Poole and her sons Ricky and J.D. Poole. She leaves a host of family and friends who adored her including her daughter-in-law Mandi Snuggs Poole, grandchildren Layne, Aubree, Mia, and Karter, her sisters and brothers-in-law Kathy & Chuck Huffman and Amy & Tony Kirk, and her nieces and nephews Chasity Lansdell, Eric Huffman, Grayson Kirk, and Olivia Kirk. Barbara was previously employed at Red River Army Depot from 1984-2001 and currently at Dixie Diner where she loved her co-workers and customers. She was a member of Red Lick First United Methodist Church where she was a beloved nursery worker. Barbara graduated from Hooks High School in 1969 and East Texas State University in 1999. Barbara had a true servant's heart and lived out her life helping others. She baked pumpkin muffins for everybody and was frequently running the roads delivering her delicious treats to shut-ins, friends, and family. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 at Chaplewood in Nash. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at Red Lick First United Methodist Church on Thursday at 2:00 with Rev. Ryan Stratton officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Virgie Mills Goodwin scholarship fund at Texas A&M University, Texarkana.
