De QUEEN, Ark.—George Emory Vorhease, 65, of Haworth, Okla., died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in a Texarkana hospice. Mr. Vorhease was born Jan. 27, 1953, in Crossett, Ark. He was a retired Southern Baptist minister and electronic tech for Red River Army Depot, a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Crossroads, Ark., and a Vietnam War Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Vorhease of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Bambi and Dutch McGehee of Rockhill, S.C.; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Debbie Vorhease of Haworth; one granddaughter, Katherine McGehee of Rockhill; one nephew, Michael Vorhease of Crossett; two nieces, Danyel Vorhease of Maumelle, Ark., and Vanessa Gibson of Conway, Ark.; one greatnephew, Grant Vorhease of Crossett; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Chandler Funeral Home with Roy Conatser officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana, 2407 Galleria Oaks Drive, Texarkana, TX 75503.
