Cheryl Reneé Black

Cheryl Reneé Black, 59, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at a local hospice. Mrs. Black was born Oct. 10, 1958, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a former teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffery Black. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dawn Gellington and Charles Jones of Irving, Texas, and Vawnika and Johnny Walker of Texarkana, Texas, and Cherica Gellington of Texarkana, Ark.; four brothers, Lee Otis Gellington of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Anthony Gellington of Oakland, Calif., Willie Gellington of Texarkana, Texas, and Darrold Gellington of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Gloria Gellington of Oakland; and eight grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Greater New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Otis Gellington officiating.
