De QUEEN, Ark.—Maxine Rakes Cawood, 91, of De Queen died Saturday, April, 14, 2018, in Dierks, Ark. Mrs. Cawood was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Bentonville, Ark. She was a retired teacher for Bentonville Middle School and a member of New Home United Methodist Church, Bentonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Eugene "Jack" Cawood. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Michael Wright of Nashville, Ark.; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
