Royce Watson

Royce S. "Doc" Watson, 81, of Texarkana, Ark., died Monday, April 16, 2018, in a local hospital. Mr. Watson was born Jan. 20, 1937 in Texarkana, Texas. He was retired from Liberty Eylau ISD, an Eagle Scout and a Treasurer, Vestryman and member of St. James Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Watson of Texarkana; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Denise Watson of Spring, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Janell Watson and Kenneth Surin of Blacksburg, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Rolinda Watson of Dallas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Episcopal Church with the Revs. Douglas Anderson, David Thompson and Jerry Hill officiating. Inurnment will be at St. James Columbarium under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. Visitation will follow services at the church.
