DONALD SMITH SR.

Donald Leo Smith Sr., 70, of New Boston, Texas, died Friday, April 13, 2018, in a Dallas hospital. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 28, 1948, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was employed with Red River Army Depot. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald L. "Donnie" II and Joycelyn Smith of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Aswad "Ozzie" and Kitty Smith of Dallas; one daughter, Tahirah "Tarrie" Smith of Cedar Hill; his mother, Fannie Smith of Kinston, N.C.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patricia and Darius of Griffin and Lanell Miller of Kinston, N.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Haynes Mortuary with the Rev. David Hood officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Online registration is at haynesmortuary.com.
