ATLANTA, Texas—Gloria Jean "Glo" Herring, 74, of Atlanta died Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
Ms. Herring was born Sept. 26, 1943, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a retired teacher and librarian with Atlanta ISD and a musician and member of First United Methodist Church, Atlanta.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Leslie Moses Herring of Bethesda, Md., and Rob and Shannon Herring of College Station, Texas; one brother, Ron Dowd of Atlanta; one sister-in-law, Nyla Dowd of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren, Shay Herring and Thomas Herring of College Station, Texas, and Dina Herring and Tedi Herring of Bethesda; two nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanner Funeral Service with the Rev. Jacob Smith officiating.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Atlanta, hand bell choir.
