MARILYN SMITH-HUBBARD

Marilyn Faye Smith-Hubbard, 74, of Hooks, Texas, died Thursday, April 12, 2018, in a local hospital. Mrs. Smith-Hubbard was born Nov. 5, 1943, in Hooks. She was a Branch Division Chief with DLA and a Sunday School Superindent, women's Sunday School teacher and deaconess of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, LaTunja of DeSoto, Texas, and Rosalyn A. Hubbard and Tracy Anthony of Hooks; four brothers, Odis Holloway of Phoenix, Ariz., Lafayette Smith Jr. of Hooks, Benny Smith of Orange, Texas, and Ronnie Smith of Amarillo, Texas; six sisters, Deloris Smith, Martha Smith, Deborah Woods and Sophia Darlene Smith of Hooks, Wanda Gooden of Texarkana and Amanda Smith-McCoy of Birda, Texas; one grandson; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Hooks, with the Rev. B.R. Daniels Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Springs Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
