Betty Jane Cox, age 85, of Texarkana, Arkansas died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in a local hospital. Betty was born Sunday, August 28, 1932, in Wilton, AR to William and Exie Brown. Betty was the youngest of six girls. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Exie Brown; husband, Banks Lee Cox, Jr.; and four sisters, Faye Martin, Mittie Lee Pound, Edith Lewis, and Doris Stipes. Betty is survived by her loving daughter Cathy Cox Lee of Texarkana, Texas; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law Banks and Sidney Lee of Orlando, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Spencer Lynn and Oliver Elias; one sister, Frances Dew; numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends and classmates from Hooks High School. She loved to volunteer for the American Heart Association, was a member of the May Dale Garden Club, the New Covenant Sunday School Class, and faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Texarkana, Arkansas. Betty was known as a talented interior designer in the Four States area for many years. She took pride in her work and joy in the happy faces of her clients. She will be remembered for her incredible talent, her ever-present smile, and her generous spirit. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas with Rev. Jaimie Alexander officiating. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 400 E 6th St, Texarkana, AR 71854. Arrangements are with Texarkana Funeral Home.
