Mrs. Rose Ethie Rankin danced through heaven's gates after 90 years of dancing on this earth. She was, no doubt, greeted by her husband, J.W. Rankin and her two sons, Billy and Bobby. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Rankin, and two sons, Billy Smith and Bobby Smith. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ron Vickers of Texarkana, Arkansas, two grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and Kevin Bryant of Tucson, Arizona, and Drew and Jennifer Teer of Alexander, Arkansas, and three great-grandchildren, Laney Bryant, Cooper Bryant, and Addison Teer. Rose was born in Texarkana, Texas, on June 7, 1927, to Sydney and Arminta Prince. She had three sisters, who all preceded her in death, Lucille Hardin, Ida Yeager and Margie Cornett. She was blessed with three children, two sons, Billy and Bobby, and a daughter, Lisa, whom she loved more than life itself. Rose was her grandchildren's biggest fan. She loved them and the joy they brought to her life. Rose was so happy when she was with her great-grandchildren, they created a light in her life and made her laugh. She was a woman of the earth. She loved to be outside. She loved yellow roses. She loved working in her yard. She loved Willie Nelson. She was a women who loved deeply and hard. She was unwavering, unbreakable and unshakable. She was a warrior. Rose, Aunt Ethie, Mom Rankin, Granny, Mom she will be missed. "A warrior's strength is measured by the size of her heart. She is respectfully humble, she will stand with honor, she will fight with love. In the face of adversity and for the ones she loves, she will be a voice and a shield. She will be a beacon to light the way home for the old. She will gently make way for the young. She is a sister, mother, daughter, grandmother. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Blessing Tree Farm, 8270 Old Harrison Chapel Rd., Texarkana, AR.
