Joyce Linex

Mrs. Thelma Joyce Linex, age 75, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Friday, April 27, 2018, in a local hospice facility. Mrs. Linex was born October 22, 1942, in Texarkana, Arkansas, and had lived most of her life in Texarkana. She was a former resident of New Boston, Texas. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a Texas Licensed Beautician and had owned her own hair salon partnered with her sister Emma Birdwell from New Boston, Texas. She was employed by Texarkana Funeral Home by the original Fuqua-Everett owners for over 30 years and adored Vickers and Thomas Fuqua as children as they did her in return. She was a loyal wife and mother to her boys, step-child, -grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Linex of Texarkana, Arkansas, the son she adored and nurtured back to health, Michael Glenn Lybarger of New Boston, Texas, and her son Lee Lybarger of Texarkana, Arkansas, a step-daughter, Debbie Linex Taylor of Texarkana, Arkansas, two sisters, Darlene Breton of El Paso, Texas, and Cathy McKenzie of Texarkana, Arkansas, one brother, Charles Perkins of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, 2 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Georgia Thacker, Frances Partridge, Emma Birdwell, and her brother, William Lee Perkins. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A. M. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Saxby and Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas.
