Wayne Kent

Wayne Kent, of the Foreman/Tom area, passed away at his home April 26, 2018. Wayne was born September 12, 1938, in Arkinda, AR, to Leon and Jewel (Horn) Kent. Wayne was a member of the Redland Methodist Church and considered the Foreman/Tom area his home where he grew up, but had lived all over the world. Wayne was a fixer of mostly everything, enjoyed welding, loved his horses, reading, loved his westerns, and was an avid cowboy. He retired from Ruan Transportation where he received several million mile safety honors. Wayne had served 4 years in the United States Navy. Wayne and Carolyn Jackson married June 24, 1983 in Texarkana, AR. They spent a wonderful 35 years together, traveling to Colorado and New Mexico during that time. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Jewel Kent; son, Jimmy Wayne Kent; brother, Charles Ray Kent; and sisters, Ann Cox and Carmen Cowling. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carolyn Kent, of the home; son, Whit Kent and son, Wraithen, of Idabel; daughters, Sonya Richardson, and husband, Dennis, of Doddridge, AR, and Crystal Dornay, and husband, Darius, of Seattle, WA; brother, Theo Kent, and wife, Aleta, of Tom; sisters, Juanita Gathright and Donna McCombs, both of Foreman; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives; along with many special friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Monday, April 30, 2018 at 2:00PM, at the Redland Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Trujillo officiating.
