DeKALB, Texas—Alberta McCullough Dukes, 81, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in a Texarkana hospital. Mrs. Dukes was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Candler County, Ga. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, and attended Northside Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold L. "Red" Dukes and Rodney Miller. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tommy Shumake of Texarkana; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Dukes of Texarkana; three sisters, Lois Thompson of Portal, Ga., Fannie Lou Holloway of Metter, Ga., and Margie Brown of Brunswick, Ga.; one brother, Douglas McCullough of Portal, Ga.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at East Funeral Home, Moore's Lane, with the Rev. Rusty Posey officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
