New Boston, Texas Donald E. Wright, 72 of New Boston, Texas died Thursday, August 2, 2018 in a local nursing home. Mr. Wright was born February 26, 1946 in Texarkana, Arkansas and grew up in Daingerfield, Texas. Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He also served in the U..S Airforce Reserve in the Red Horse division. Mr. Wright was a Christian and attended Tapp United Methodist Church. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by one son, Donald Lynn Wilson, one brother, Jerry S. Wright, one sister, Dortheda S. Couch and faithful companion HRCH Master Champion "Ms. Dixie Dandy". Don is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol Wright, grandson, Wade Wilson and a daughter in law, Kristal Wilson of New Boston, Texas. Don lived a full life and had many occupations and hobbies. Mr. Wright was the owner of Growing Season Nursery & Landscape for 32 years. He was a licensed irrigator and backflow technician. His spare time was spent being very active in the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He was a member of DeKalb Lodge #9, Border Lodge #672 and Boston Lodge #69. He was the past Master of Foreman Lodge and Boston Lodge #69. He was the current District Deputy Grand Master of District 1A of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston. Services will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Tapp United Methodist Church, New Boston with Rev. Tommy Earl Burton officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. before services at the church.
