Silas Brown

Silas Wayne Brown, 72, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, in a local hospice. Mr. Brown was born March 15, 1946, in Dayton, Texas. He was a retired mechanic, former corrections officer, past employee of McLarty Ford and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Brown. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Brown of Texarkana, Texas, and Terry and Ginger Brown of Nash, Texas; one daughter, Sabrina Hurt of Whitleyville, Tenn.; one brother, James Brown of Cleveland, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
