George Goodwin

George Edward Goodwin, age 69, of Maud, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his home. Mr. Goodwin was born January 6, 1949 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot and attended Rock Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, George P. and Elizabeth Goodwin. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Vickie Goodwin; one son, Lance Goodwin; special loved one, Ricky Martinez of Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law; Amy and Steelie McCuller of Maud, Texas; six grandchildren, Alex, Brynn, and Lane Sultz, and Mason, Kaci, and Rylee McCuller; one brother, Rodney (Boog) Goodwin of New Boston, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Dayton Davis of New Boston, Texas; his mother-in-law, Claye Thacker; one brother-in-law and wife, Johnny and Paula Thacker; all of Maud, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral services will be held 2PM, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church Maud with Bro. Steve Minter and Bro. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM Wednesday evening at Chapelwood Funeral Home.
