WILLIAM PORTERFIELD

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—William Thomas "Bill" Porterfield, 79, formerly of Nashville, Ark., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018. Mr. Porterfield was born April 19, 1939, in Nashville. He was a retired trucker with Volunteer Express, formerly employed with Homboldt Express, former chairman of Tennessee Intrastate Committee and a member of Knights Templar Commandery No. 1, Cryptic Masons Nashville Council No. 1, Jere Baxter Royal Arch Mason Chapter 117, Life Member York Rite Association of Middle, Tenn., Sam Davis Masonic Lodge No. 661, National Motor Freight Classification Committe, Southern Motor Carriers Rate Conference and Giles Creek Baptist Church, Smyrna, Tenn. Survivors include his wife, Betty Morton; two sisters, Elizabeth Sue Glover and Nancy Ann; one stepsister, Dannie Jones; and a number of other relatives. Services will be today in Nashville. Arrangements are under direction of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
