MILDRED LEWIS

DeKALB, Texas—Mildred Tidwell Lewis, 87, of Greenville, Texas, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018. Mrs. Lewis was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Siloam, Texas. She was retired from Civil Service, formerly employed with Red River Army Depot and Webb Air Force Base, Big Spring, Texas, and a charter member of Siloam Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Elwood Lewis. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Robert "Bob" Platt; two brothers, Leslie Earl "Tank" Tidwell and James Henry Tidwell; four grandchildren, Sarah Hamilton, David Platt, Cydney Vanmeter and Benjamin Krisch; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Siloam Baptist Church, Simms, Texas. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.
