Mary A. DeSantis, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, in a local hospice. Mrs. DeSantis was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Marshall, Texas. She was a member of Texarkana Women Chorus and a former WMU director, Sunday School teacher and member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James DeSantis. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy DeSantis and Patty and Dan Cochran of Texarkana and Judy and Kent Peetz of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Al Pickett of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Nina Dyson of Lancaster, Calif.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, with the Revs. Kevin Myers and Don Brazile officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana or Highland Park Baptist Church Building Fund.
