ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Bryan Erwin Powell, 62, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018. Mr. Powell was born April 15, 1956, in Detroit, Mich. He was formerly employed with General Motors, Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center, Horizons of Hope, Rainbow of Challenges, a member of Garrett Chapel Baptist Church and a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Rosalind Reed Powell; one son, Devonte' T. Harris of Oklahoma City; five stepchildren, Salathia Brittian of Fairburn, Ga., Amber Reed of atlanta, Ga., and Aaron Reed, Joshua Gardner and Jada Reed of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one sister, Elyria Powell-Akbar of Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be noon Saturday at Garrett Chapel Baptist Church, Hope, Ark., with the Rev. Douglas Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Cave Hill Cemetery No. 2 under direction of Williams Funeral Home. The body may be viewed 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday with visitation 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
