HOPE, Ark.—Emily DeVenney, 76, of Hope died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, in Shreveport, La. Mrs. DeVenney was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Spring Hill, Ark. She was a retired registered nurse and attorney at law and attended South Side Baptist Church, Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, George DeVenney; one son, Jeff DeVenney; and one daughter, Melissa DeVenney Smith. Survivors include two sons, Tim DeVenney and Ben DeVenney of Hope; one daughter, Elaine Arnold of Camden, Ark.; two stepchildren, Pat Beavers and Frank DeVenney of Hope; two brothers, Billy Ray McBay of Spring Hill and Randy McBay of Hope; two sisters, Shirley Burke of DeAnn, Ark., and Sherry Wylie of Hope; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Mark Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
