ATLANTA, Texas—James Luther Pemberton, 66, of Bivins, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at his home. Mr. Pemberton was born Dec. 1, 1951, in Dallas. He was retired from Dallas Garland North Eastern Railroad and a member of Savannah Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Judy Pemberton of Bivins, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Jami and Wade Hudgens of Hallsville, Texas; one brother, Mike Herzog of Clifton, Texas; five sisters, Lois Hamby of Forney, Texas, Linda Gilchrist of Oklahoma City, Sharron Tucker of Kemp, Texas, Vickie Reites of Crandall, Texas, and Sondra Trease of Westville, Okla.; five grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanner Funeral Service with John Givens and Billy Pemberton officiating. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
