DE QUEEN, Ark.—John Edward McKinley, 88, of De Queen died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at his home. Mr. McKinely was born Nov. 26, 1930, in De Queen. He was retired from GTE; former employee of Hazelwood Dairy, Palace Drug Store and Southern Ice Plant; and a member of First Baptist Church, Lockesburg. He was an Air Force veteran and recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and German Occupation Medal. Mr. McKinley was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Joyce Coon. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn McKinley; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald Edward McKinley of Horatio and Jerry Randal and Sonya McKinley of De Queen; two brothers, Robert Lee McKinley and Michael Stephen McKinely of Horatio; three grandchildren, Reagan Lynn McKinley of Bryant, Ark., Tiffany Craig of Grannis, Ark., and Chris Winer of Umpire, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Chandler Funeral Home with Ronnie Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
