BETTYE COVERT

Bettye Alice Hardman Covert, 87, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in Tyler, Texas. Mrs. Covert was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Texarkana. She was a typesetter and attended Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Jim" Covert Sr.; and one son, Lee Perry Rains. Survivors include one son, Scott David Rains; one daughter, Stacy Elizabeth Rains; four grandchildren, Lee Aaron Rains, Luke Alden Rains, Chase-Lee Franklin Sowers and Taylor-McCall Emma Sowers; one niece, Cate Hardman; two nephews, John Hardman and David Hardman; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. Online registration is at texarkanafuneralhome.com.
