DeKALB, Texas—Aubrey Neil Beggs, 81, of DeKalb died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at his home. Mr. Beggs was born Sept. 5, 1937, in DeKalb. He was a retired management supervisor with Dallas Morning News, a member of Myrtle Masonic Lodge, Oklahoma City, Scottish Rite, Hella Shrine and First Baptist Church, DeKalb, and an Army National Guard veteran. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Colston Beggs of DeKalb; three daughters, Kathi Priest of Waukomis, Okla., Tina Renick of Rockwall, Texas, and Missy Beggs of Wylie, Texas; two sisters, Juanella Freeman of Malta, Texas, and Sheila Brewer of Texarkana; two brothers, Jimmy Beggs of DeKalb and JoeBen Beggs of Corsicana, Texas; two stepbrothers, Dale Blanton of Mount Vernon, Texas, and Ron Blanton of Wake Village, Texas; one stepsister, Jodie Smith of Redwater, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Revs. James Sparks and Matt Neese officiating. Burial will be in Woodmen Cemetery.
