DeKALB, Texas—Gary Lynn Allen, 71, of New Boston, Texas, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at his home. Mr. Allen was born Dec. 21, 1946, in New Boston. He was a retired mail sorter with the United States Postal Service, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a Baptist and an Army veteran. Survivors include one daughter, Penny Allen of New Boston; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Johnny Joe Allen of Malta, Texas, and Gary Wayne and Glynda Denise Allen of New Boston; five grandchildren, Amon Allen, Aaron Allen, Ashlyn Yates, Danielle Puckett and Glen Semore; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Ford officiating. Burial will be in Woodmen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
