ASHDOWN, Ark.—Maggie Laverne Ringgold, 83, of Ashdown died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, in a local hospital. Mrs. Ringgold was born June 20, 1935, in Bogota, Texas. She was a florist and a member of First Baptist Church, Ashdown. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Leeann White; and one great-grandchild, Joe Paul Jones. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Marilee Ringgold of Ashdown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Donald White of Ashdown and Susan and Michael Surber of Prairie Grove, Ark.; two sisters, Melba Varner of Fontana, Calif., and Ruby Lenaway of Texarkana, Texas; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ashdown Cemetery with Butch Riddle officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
