E.J. Kearney

E.J. Kearney, 99, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in a local hospice. The Rev. Kearney was born Dec. 16, 1919, in McKenzie, Tenn. He was a retired pastor with Highland Park Baptist Church, Buchanan Baptist Church and Huffines Baptist Church, Atlanta, and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, in 2011. Survivors include three children and one spouse, Kay Kearney Williams, Teresa Kearney and Larry McFadden and Michael Kearney; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane. Private burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
